What Clean Energy Incentives and Grants are Expiring?
In July 2025, the “big beautiful bill” passed by a Republican-led Congress eliminated a number of federal home energy tax credits years earlier than planned. These tax credits are critical for our nation’s fight against climate change, and there’s still a chance to use them before they expire.
If you have been thinking about making home improvements, buying a car, or taking advantage of economic development projects, now is the time to look into tax incentives.
We’ve compiled a list of current tax incentives for Oak Park residents, their use, and when they expire. The initiatives range from renewable energy credits to electric vehicle rebates; these programs are designed to support sustainability while offsetting costs. Some of these opportunities, specifically those funded by the federal government, are set to expire soon. Reviewing tax incentives now can help you save money and plan for the future.
Check out the following table to see how to apply before the incentives are gone.
