About OPCAN
Oak Park Climate Action Network (OPCAN) is a volunteer group of Oak Park, Illinois, residents working to eliminate our community’s contribution to the global climate crisis through equitable policies and practices.
OPCAN advocates for timely implementation of the goals of Climate Ready Oak Park, the climate action plan adopted by the Village of Oak Park in 2022. We also advocate for more climate friendly policies with other local taxing bodies, residents, businesses, and organizations.

Oak Park Climate Action Network (OPCAN) is partnering with the Village of Oak Park to offer free coaching on reducing emissions, home electrification, electric vehicles, and native gardening to all Oak Park residents.

Who do I hire?
Many of our members have already electrified all or parts of their homes. With their input, OPCAN has developed a running list of electrification contractors we have either worked with or researched operating in Oak Park and surrounding communities.
How do I electrify?
Global climate change is here and now. It demands action on a local and personal level as well as on a worldwide scale. Each of us can make a difference to help Oak Park realize our goal of 60% reduction in climate-heating emissions by 2030 and net-zero emissions by 2050.
