Sept 21 3pm: SOLAR IS FOR EVERYONE!
No roof? No problem! You can still go solar with “community solar,” subscribing for a share of the energy generated on a shared “solar farm.”
You get a discount on your electricity costs while helping to increase the balance of renewably sourced electricity in the overall supply. Community solar is equity in action: anyone with a ComEd account can subscribe! That includes renters, condo owners, landlords, businesses, and institutions like houses of worship and not-for-profits, as well as property owners ineligible for rooftop solar because of shade, roofing material or condition, or financial considerations.
Learn all about community solar, how to pick a provider and sign up, and more at an upcoming free webinar, SOLAR IS FOR EVERYONE! Organized by Oak Park Climate Action Network, it takes place at 3pm on Sunday, September 21, in recognition of Sun Day, a national day of celebration of the power of the sun. Hear from Grace Concialdi, Solar Outreach Coordinator at Citizens Utility Board, and Art Spooner, Oak Park resident and community solar subscriber, followed by Q&A.
